In 2007, President George W. Bush invited Afghan President Hamid Karzai to Camp David for two days in August to discuss security issues related to Afghanistan. President Karzai was met with the customary formal arrival ceremony for visiting leaders.  Karzai spoke briefly with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates before heading off in Golf Cart One with the President and First Lady.
